Community Guidelines
Effective date: 10 July 2026 | Last updated: 10 July 2026
1. Purpose
PickPCParts includes community features completed builds, comments, forums, retailer reviews, and build guide discussions. These guidelines explain what we expect from participants so the platform stays useful, honest, and welcoming for builders at every experience level.
These guidelines supplement our Terms of Service. Violations may result in content removal, account restrictions, or permanent bans depending on severity.
2. Core expectations
- Be respectful. Disagreement about hardware is fine; personal attacks are not.
- Be honest. Share genuine experience and disclose affiliate or sponsored links when relevant.
- Be relevant. Keep discussions focused on PCs, laptops, and related technology.
- Be careful with personal data yours and others’. Public posts may be indexed by search engines.
3. What we encourage
- sharing completed builds with clear specs, photos, and lessons learned;
- helpful answers to beginner questions without gatekeeping;
- constructive feedback on builds, focused on compatibility, thermals, value, and practicality;
- reporting incorrect product data through the proper correction channels;
- retailer reviews based on real orders, with fair context about shipping and support experience.
4. Completed builds
Completed build submissions are reviewed before publication. To improve approval chances:
- use a clear title and accurate component list linked to your actual build;
- upload your own photos where possible;
- avoid duplicate submissions or placeholder content;
- do not include personal contact details in public descriptions.
We may reject submissions that are incomplete, misleading, off-topic, or low quality. If rejected, you will see the reason in your dashboard where applicable.
5. Comments and forums
Comments on builds and guides, as well as forum posts, must follow the same standards of respect and accuracy. When discussing specs or compatibility, cite sources where practical and distinguish opinion from fact.
Use dedicated forum areas for component addition requests and specification corrections so moderators can track them efficiently.
6. Retailer reviews
Retailer reviews must reflect a genuine purchase or service experience. Where proof of purchase is required, upload a clear bill image that shows relevant order details. Do not post forged, edited, or unrelated receipts.
Reviews should focus on the retailer’s service shipping, packaging, support, and fulfilment not unrelated product performance disputes better suited to product discussions.
7. Prohibited behaviour
Do not:
- harass, threaten, or discriminate against others;
- post spam, repetitive promotions, or undisclosed affiliate dumps;
- publish obscene, hateful, or NSFW material;
- deliberately spread false technical information;
- impersonate another user, retailer, or PickPCParts staff;
- share private messages, order details, or another person’s personal information without consent;
- attempt to manipulate reviews, likes, or votes;
- post low-effort AI-generated content presented as personal experience.
8. Reporting and moderation
Logged-in users can report comments and certain retailer review content. Available report reasons include spam, obscene or offensive content, harassment or verbal abuse, trolling, AI-generated content, and other violations.
Reported content may be hidden pending review. Authors can delete their own comments in most cases. Moderators may remove content, issue warnings, temporarily restrict accounts, or ban repeat offenders.
Reporting is for genuine violations not for disagreements about brand preference or build choices.
To appeal a moderation decision, email [email protected] with relevant links and context.
9. Account deletion and public content
If you delete your account, personal dashboard data is removed as described in our Privacy Policy. Public posts and published builds may remain visible in anonymised form so existing discussions retain context.
10. Updates
We may revise these guidelines as community features evolve. Material updates will be reflected on this page. Continued participation means you accept the current version.
